YISSEL CARROLL

YISSEL & TINA

Roughly, when did you work/study/perform with Tina? (years?)

1995-2000

What is your favorite memory of your time with Tina?

I really love her passion for all things! She loved things with a passion and also hated things with a passion. I like that she doesn't do mornings. I really enjoyed her parties. And her wardrobe of costumes....LOVE!

What was your favorite song that you sang for Tina?

I loved doing the musical reviews. It was a tru community effort and she always handled it with aplomb.

Did you perform in any community theater musicals with Tina? If so, which ones?

Geez. A few, but I remember the rehearsals better for some reason! I really liked rehearsing with Tina and Manny.

At which theaters did you perform for Tina?

Playhouse 1960 & The Crighton Theater

What is the most valuable lesson you learned from Tina?

To live, live, live! And to always look for the best in people. Everyone is special in their own way.

What did you go on to do in life/career?

I am a Multicultural Director. I still perform. Of course, I love it! I am happy to report that I am AEA and SAG-AFTRA.

What is your favorite memory of Manny?

Manny is an absolute gentleman. I learned many things from him. Some of them was about theatre. But, a lot was about life. Classy guy!

Is there anything you'd like to say to Tina on the occasion of her retirement?

Congratulations! Are you really retiring? CAN you retire? : )

Is there anything else you'd like to say?

I am really happy to have been a part of this tribute to Tina. I look fondly at the time I spent with the Cafeos. It wasn't always roses, but my memory has only retained the good. I have often had Tina's or Manny's voice in my head in various acting experiences. I always smile thinking "If they only knew..." But, I figure I am not the only one. Sincere thank you to you both. Always love to you both!
